Here’s a short list of the most frequently asked questions that we get in the studio.
It is our passion and pleasure to educate and inform clients about microblading and semi permanent makeup.
If you’re still curious or don’t see one of your questions answered, check out our microblading and semi permanent makeup blog or check out the first book that was written for microblading clients on Amazon!
Short answer: yes. That being said, it’s very bearable and minimal for most people. Many artists claim there is no pain, but even with a two step numbing process like I use, some clients still feel a bit uncomfortable.
Microblading and other forms of semi permanent makeup are needles going underneath your skin, and it doesn’t always feel nice.
That said, I’ve done it on myself so I knew what my clients were feeling. The best description is someone scratching a bad sunburn, it’s bearable, and you look beautiful afterwards!
There are occasions where some clients don’t feel anything and do fall asleep. I personally always hope you are able to get a nap in!
Yes. If you choose an artist who has their license and qualifications like I do, you minimize any risk of unsanitary conditions or poor outcomes.
There is a tiny possibility for infection, but this is reduced when you follow proper aftercare instructions.

This is a difficult question to answer, because how long your brows last depends entirely on you. On your age, how healthy your skin is, what medical conditions you have, how often you sweat, how much sun you get, even things like your diet can affect how quickly your brows fade.
There is no guaranteed outcome for semi permanent makeup. Though rare, it is always possible that your skin may not take to it, or may not achieve exactly what you had in mind. If you have questions about this, please feel free to text or email me and we will discuss it in more depth. After your initial appointment, you will likely need a second appointment after 4-6 weeks. After that, you usually won’t have to come in for 6 – 18 months.
When you start to see your color fade (which is normal!, usually after 6-18 months) and you start having to fill in your microbladed or semi permanent brows everyday, it’s time for a touch up!
Yes. Many people return to work immediately after their service, or the day after.
There will be some minor redness or slight swelling, but this will be gone or greatly reduced on the second day.
Absolutely not! Clients ask me this all the time, and I’m horrified that at some point someone actually did shave off their eyebrows! I do not shave off your eyebrows, and don’t let anyone else shave off your eyebrows either. No one should be shaving off anybody’s eyebrows. You need those hairs, so keep them safe!

Not around your eyebrows!
The reason is because your daily makeup is full of bacteria (gross), and we want your brows to heal safely and quickly. Keep makeup away from your eyebrows for two weeks.
Nope. You get a ‘Get Out of Gym Free’ card for at least 7 days.
Sweat can flush pigment out of your brows during healing, and we want to keep the pigment in your brows!
Nope. Tuck that mermaid tail away for two weeks.
Bacteria and germs are in pools and oceans and hot tubs. Stay out of the water until your eyebrows have fully healed for two weeks.
Yes, you can shower, but keep your showers short to minimize the steam on your eyebrows and keep your face out of the shower stream for two weeks.
Good news though, microbladed eyebrows are a great excuse for a bubble bath!
You will come in, sign some release/consent waivers, and then we will chat about your current brows, what you like, what you want, and I will make some suggestions.
I’ll take some quick ‘before’ photos. We will measure your face and design a custom shape that balances and enhances your features. I will put a topical numbing cream on you, and then we will do the first pass of microblading.
I will then apply another numbing agent for 10 minutes, and finish with the second pass. We’ll wipe off the ink, I’ll take some ‘after’ photos, and we’ll schedule your touch up appointment.
The entire appointment takes about 2 hours.
