Today we’re defining microblading’s eyeliner cousin in new semi permanent makeup trends. What is a Lash Line Enhancement? Let’s find out!
Semi-permanent lash liner is semi permanent pigment gently applied to the lash line of the eye with either a single or three liner needle set in a digital hand tool. It can do wonders to open up your eyes, and I promise it’s not as scary as it sounds!

Aloha, Ya’ll!
My name is Hannah Maruyama. I am the owner and master artist, here, at YAMA Studios and I am going to talk to you today about lash enhancements.
Lash enhancements are, without a doubt, my favorite service to provide.
- It’s fairly quick.
- It’s really detailed.
And that’s why I think I like it so much, too. But, the lash enhancement is a tiny, tiny, tiny tattoo done with a tiny, tiny, tiny needle. And it’s done underneath your natural eyelash line, and in between your eyelashes. It can really make your eyelashes look so much thicker and so much healthier.
A lot of clients come in and want winged eyeliner and I’m able to talk to them into the lash enhancement. It’s a more natural option. It’s also a little better for everyday wear because it just makes your eyes look a little brighter and a little more open. It brings some definition to your lash line and face that brings that healthy, full look that you get when you have lash extensions.
Obviously, nothing can fully replace lash extensions and we all know that. But, if you’re looking for an easy way to feel more put together, if you have a really hectic, active lifestyle and you want to wake and not look like a zombie, because I promise you, when I don’t have makeup on, you can see right through me and it is not a good look. Especially my eyes they just get so tired with no color and that lash enhancement makes such a big difference.
You can get the lash enhancement on the top of your lashes and on the bottom.
Top Lash Line Enhancement
If you’re looking for that really natural look, putting it on the top is a great way to fill in a sparse lash line. And it’s better if you, especially if you are over the age of 40 and this is just a guideline not a hard and fast rule, because I know a lot of 40 year old women that have better skin than I do, but the filling in the bottom lash line can sometimes close your eyes in a little bit. So, if you have smaller eyes, hooded eyes, or if your eyes are a little affected by gravity a little bit more, then I would suggest only having the lash enhancement done on your top lashes.
Bottom Lash Line Enhancement
You can also talk to your artist just to decide if you do want a bottom lash enhancement you can just get a really, really light touch. Not thick. And you can totally control the thickness of your lash enhancement. If you’re in the greater Oahu area, then please come to me. Let me enhance your lashes for you because it’s so much fun!
